Epos kwaliteitslabel
In February, our project www.ahealthydigitaleurope.eu underwent a desk check. Following this review, our national agency, EPOS vzw, awarded us a Quality Label. Thanks to all the volunteers and our excellent partners, this project was a success both during and after its implementation.
Our national agency not only awarded HIHTAST NGO a Quality Label, but also encouraged us to submit a new project. We have now done so, and we are eagerly awaiting the outcome of the selection procedure.
Empowering Through Technology: Free Computer Courses by HIHTAST
NGO HIHTAST is committed to digital inclusion by offering free computer courses tailored to those who need it most—seniors, migrants, and individuals facing financial or social barriers. These hands-on workshops help participants gain essential digital skills and keep up with our rapidly evolving tech landscape.
A great example is the “Free Upgrade to Windows 11” workshop held on September 16, 2025, in the heart of Ghent. With Microsoft ending support for Windows 10 in October 2025, many people risked being left behind. HIHTAST stepped in with a sustainable solution: guiding participants through the process of upgrading their laptops to Windows 11—completely free of charge. Dozens attended, and many left with a fully updated device, ready to rejoin the digital world.
These workshops are more than just technical sessions—they’re moments of connection, empowerment, and community.
One of the main goals of NGO HIHTAST is to teach ICT skills to seniors.
In September, NGO HIHTAST kicked off the new “school year” with a strong commitment to free activities for all, focusing on seniors, migrants, and people facing social or financial exclusion.
With Windows 10 support ending on October 14, 2025, many users are being pushed toward buying new computers—a costly and unsustainable solution. To counter this, HIHTAST organized a free workshop in the heart of Ghent: “Upgrade to Windows 11.” Attendees brought their laptops and, after a few hours, left with fully functional devices running Windows 11—completely free of charge.
In our last project, www.ahealthydigitaleurope.eu, we learned about crowdfarming. This organisation supports local farmers who want to become biological farmers. With the support of Crowdfarming, they can change their farm and become a biological farm.
Hihtast adopted a bergamot tree. A bergamot is a very healthy fruit that makes you happy. It also has a great smell. The skin of the bergamot is like the best perfume you've ever smelled. By adopting a tree, the farmer is sure of an income. We are sure about the origin of our bergamots, and we can visit the farm if we want to check our tree.
If you also want to do it, check our video tutorial on Tutorials. If you use the following link, you will get a discount of €10!
